While your previously-released material won’t qualify for influential playlists like New Music Friday, you can still leverage your existing content on Spotify with a well-planned campaign.īack catalog campaigns are relatively easy to implement they tend to be more flexible in terms of timing, with fewer items to oversee (no uploads to coordinate, less activity required on social media, etc.) Independent playlist curators are also typically much more receptive than music bloggers and music journalists when it comes to listening to older releases. But there are good reasons to promote your back catalog on Spotify too.

Many blog articles and online resources are aimed at music creators who are promoting new releases. We may receive a commission for purchases made through these links. I just hope I have done everything I could to help this situation. I never use any pay for streams or anything like that. I am just really stressed over this whole thing. That is why I contacted support right away. I'm just worried that due to the actions of this playlist owner that my song could be removed.

They seemed very helpful and glad I contacted them. I did contact Spotify Artist Support, I gave them the playlist in question, explained the spike in my stream and listener count which led me to immediately contact them because it seemed very suspicious, and gave them the name of my song so they were aware of what's going on. I have no idea who these people are & never submitted or contacted them and they had absolutely no authorization to do what they did. I don't know what the turn around time is exactly. One thing I discovered is they seem to change out all the songs and shuffle playlists constantly. They actually responded and said they took it down. On their instagram page they have a lot of artists demanding their songs be taken down as well I have a couple screen shots of that. I had personally contacted the playlist owner and my label did as well and demanded that the song be taken down immediately.
